When creating a multi language website based on RPL and Joomla, the language management should be done in 2 different levels:
1- Joomla Language Management
In this level Joomla and some third party extensions (such as Joomfish and Falang) manage multiple languages. Important parts of the website such as menus, titles, articles and pages should be translated manually. Pressing on a language flag, will load the translations in that specific language. The whole job will be managed by Joomla and the third party extensions. Please note that this feature is different in each version of Joomla (Joomla 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5)
.
2- RPL Language Management
Although RPL supports multiple languages, being a Joomla-based application, it is dependent on Joomla as well.
2-1- RPL Interface
In a Joomla website where multiple languages are already installed and activated, the RPL interface can be easily translated to any other language through the RPL Language Manager tool in the backend of RPL.
2-2- RPL Data At the time of adding properties, agents enter some data, such as property description, property tags, etc. This type of data is dynamic, therefore it must be translated and managed one by one. Currently RPL supports this function in Joomla 1.5 and via Joomfish and the translations of the user-entered-data must be entered from the backend of the website. Note: Joomfish is not released for newer versions of Joomla, therefore using Joomla 1.5 is necessary for using this feature.
